Due to the ever-changing COVID-19 Pandemic the NYS Petition process is changing.
The Governor and State Assembly/Senate took action to end petition collecting on Tuesday, March 17th and reduced the number of signatures required from 5% to 1.5% of affiliated voters of each district.
This adjustment represents a 70% reduction in the numbers required by candidates.

Petition filing is March 17th-20th from 9am-5pm:
Offices encompassed exclusively in Broome County should be turned into the Broome County Board of Elections office (if the doors of the office building are locked, ring bell or call 607-778-2172)
Cross-County Line Offices must be turned into the New York State Board of Elections (call the State Board for their updated pandemic procedures at 518-474-1953).
